A TRUE Detox Plan to Start 2020

There is a major factor in our world today that impedes our thinking and efforts to make healthy choices, stay focused, and create new beliefs and habits. And unfortunately these are the less harmful symptoms, with diseases and disorders such a Alzheimer's, Autism, ADD, and Depression on the other end of the spectrum.

It's the toxic burden on your brain. 

According to Alberto Villoldo, 99% of people living today have "broken brains" - they have been damaged by the toxins to which we have been exposed. The first thing you must do is "detox your brain. You must get toxins out so your system can upgrade the software (the luminous energy field), and when you upgrade the software, that upgrades the body."

It was believed until just a few years ago that there was no specific waste removal system in the brain. While the rest of the body relies on the lymphatic system to carry waste towards the emunctories, scientists thought the brain did not have such a designated system.


 It was not until August of 2012 that the Glymphatic System was discovered: a functional waste clearing pathway for the central nervous system. Up until that point research could only be performed on dead human brains. New technology now allowed alive brains to be used and led to the discovery of this vast and intricate network of tiny tubules in the brain that's function is to clear waste products.

Detoxification is the Cornerstone of Health

In fact, many experts agree that we are living in the most toxic environment in human history, and detoxification is more crucial than nutrition for longevity.

While many of us have been including cellular detoxification
strategies for our livers and kidneys for years, it's imperative now that we include support for the Brain and Nervous System.


Neurotoxins we are exposed to daily include:

 Combined with these factors that impede the Glymphatic System:
  • Poor or Lack of Sleep (Glymphatic Drainage happens during deep, non -REM Sleep)

  • Poor Diet (Standard American Diet - SAD, or Modern American Diet - MAD)
  • Nutrient Deficiencies
  • Hormonal Imbalances

The health of our guts greatly impacts the health of our brains. Wholistic health means we consider how everything works together.

Your gut microbiome is the modulator, or the steering wheel, for the brain. Did you know that for every one message the brain sends to the gut, the gut sends 9 messages to the brain, telling it what to do such as which hormones /neurotransmitters to manufacture, how much, and when to use them? Imagine when you are driving and your steering is just off a bit you can end up in ditch. The same principle applies to the steering of your brain by the microbiome.


A brain detoxification plan must include addressing any issues in the gut.

Besides the list below, neurotoxicity can also present as less obvious health issues related to the gall bladder, liver, kidney, spleen, and even knees.

Misconceptions About Detoxing

Unfortunately the Diet Industry and even some Natural Health Sites/Stores have portrayed true detoxification inaccurately for the sake of sales and weight loss. Sustainable weight loss is a side effect of creating health, not the short term effects of a fad diet involving an herbal laxative.

Things to remember:
  • Herbs are not ideal for everyone, at least not right away. They require enzymes from the liver. If one is already struggling with digestive issues herbs can make the situation worse.
  • Pathways for drainage need to be open so that toxins can get out of the body. There are 5 pathways for detoxification - not just the colon. Taking the herbal kits that have a laxative effect skim the surface at best and at worse can create a healing crisis when toxins stirred up can't exit the body and are reabsorbed into the bloodstream. Taking binders can also cause a healing crisis if drainage is not established. 
  • Detoxification is not quick. Be patient and consistent. Commit to the process.
  • Detoxification should not involve pushing the body. Harsher does not mean more thorough. Gentle approaches working with the body are best.
  • Any detoxification program should involve minimizing incoming toxins, not just focused on the removal. It would be like trying to drain a full bathtub with the faucet running. Some things you can't control but there are many you can.
  • The goals is to detoxify deeply enough that you are clearing the fluid inside and outside your cells. These are toxins you won't "see".
